Merry Christmas, one and all!

An all day rain on Christmas Eve managed to remove most of the traces of our Big Snow from Confluence Borough, but a 20-degree overnight temperature drop brought a little fresh Christmas snow. What could be more wonderful!  Only some lovely shots from around the state to showcase the season.

All of us at PPFF hope you and yours are enjoying the best of what this day has to offer.

Pictures of the Week

Enjoy this video Christmas card from Ohiopyle State Park. A little too brisk to take a ride down the waterslides today!
With snow in the forecast, Fran Bires from the Friends of Goddard set off for Benezette in hopes of finding some elk. He succeeded! Give this gentleman a click for another view.
Groomed ski trails at Hills Creek State Park are calling you to schuss.
And the same goes for Oil Creek State Park!
Just another beautiful Monday morning at Black Moshannon State Park.
A whole host of beautiful shots grace the "pages" of the Pine Creek Rail Trail Facebook group. But I couldn't resist pulling out Linda Stager's shot of the arch bridge near MP 4. I think it might make a challenging jigsaw for a Christmas evening, don't you?
And, finally, a little winter levity!
This is Annie Quinn's entry into her family's "gingerbread house" contest. A graham cracker Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail shelter. Give it a click and with any luck you can see the other pictures. Too cool.
Sinnemahoning State Park. Twenty-four to 28 inches of snow.
