SUMMERTIME, AND THE MEMBERSHIP IS EASY
COVID-19 has had an undeniable impact on our daily lives—we hope that you and yours are safe and healthy. Perhaps you found stress relief and family time in a state park or forest during this time. We hope that you did, and it gave you the safe, warm embrace that you needed.
Visitation to our parks and forests is up an average of 30% and we expect this number to maintain.
Our parks and forests truly are good for our physical, mental, and emotional health.
With the support of members of and donors to the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation, we were able to organize to keep people safe while using our parks and forests. It empowered us to defend much needed funds for park and forest maintenance. And it is enabling us to get back out into the parks and forests to mitigate the impacts of heavy use and to provide much needed stewardship on our public lands.
We know that times are challenging and the level of uncertainty directly corresponds to stress levels. We hear you. It is not lightly that we write to you to ask you to consider membership in the Foundation.
With your support we can:
- Advocate on behalf of YOUR state parks and forests.
- Continue to make sure that parks and forests are there to create cherished memories with family and friends.
- Provide meaningful outdoor (and virtual) experiences for people of all ages to help you through the challenging times and to build your skills and knowledge base.
- Improve accessibility of our parks and forests and keep them safe for visitors.
Thank you for believing in this important environmental work and for joining with PPFF to work together. Your membership is your vote of confidence in PPFF and strengthens the impact we can have to give our much-loved parks and forests a stronger voice.
We know that efforts to control the spread of COVID-19 have put unbelievable pressure on finances and, at times, even hope for a reasonable future. We do not ask for financial support lightly or without awareness of these very particular challenges. Yet, your support—and a strong membership base--is needed if we are to continue the fight for our state parks and forests.
